Community Support Programs

ENGLISH-UKRAINIAN BILINGUAL PROGRAM

Carpathia Credit Union is a full service financial institution serving Manitoba’s Ukrainian Community. In 1992, Carpathia Credit Union commenced a program of support to schools which offer the English-Ukrainian Bilingual Program.

Through this support, schools are able to enhance various components of their English-Ukrainian bilingual curriculum.

Purpose

To support programs that will enhance components of the English-Ukrainian bilingual curriculum such as a computer communications, language and writing skill development programs.

Support

Carpathia Credit Union will support recognized English-Ukrainian Bilingual Programs based on the following formula of school enrollment.

Enrollments	Annual Donation Amount
50 students or less	$500.00
51 to 100 students	$1,000.00
more than 100 students	$1,000.00 plus $10.00 per student in excess of 100

Application

A completed application form providing full and current information must be submitted annually.
The Board will consider one application per year per school.

Deadline

All requests must be post-marked no later than October 31th for the current year.
Considerations will be given to English-Ukrainian Bilingual Programs offered during the normal school year September to June.

Eligibility Criteria

The Bilingual Parents Committee must maintain an active account at Carpathia Credit Union.
The school must maintain a minimum registration level in the program.
The school must be willing to participate in the preparation of a youth communication vehicle (ie. newsletter), where Carpathia Credit Union will be recognized in the vehicle.
The school must have a Department of Education approved English-Ukrainian Bilingual Program.

Terms and Conditions

Financial support will be provided upon receipt and review of completed application.
The first installment of 50% will be provided prior to the commencement of the project / event / activity.
The second installment will be provided upon receipt of the post event report.
Final payment will not be made to any applicant until a satisfactory post event report has been submitted. Deadline for post event report: June 2nd of the current year.
The school must provide an annual statement by June 2nd, of how funds were utilised including details of the program, publicity achieved, and samples of visual recognition of Carpathia Credit Union support.

Acknowledgment of Support

Carpathia Credit Union support will be recognized in all school literature pertinent to the EUBP program. Please contact the marketing department for a logo.
The school will provide an opportunity for Carpathia Credit Union to make a presentation at the graduation ceremony.
The school will provide proof of an acknowledgement.

Additional Support Available

In addition to annual donations, Carpathia Credit Union assists all English-Ukrainian Bilingual Schools throughout the year. Promotional merchandise may be provided for fundraising events.
